After a brief business meeting (there were no new requests), work continued on the quilt for The Family Justice Center.  The quilt will be composed of seventeen drawings which Jo has printed onto fabric.  Our job was to decide on a layout, as well as sashing and border fabric.

Everyone provided input as we played around with different shades of purple, the signature color for Victims of Domestic Abuse.  We agreed the colorful drawing with the word "Hope" should be the center block with a 1/2" border of deep purple.  Work will continue on the quilt when we meet again on February 24.

We also worked on the Yo-Yo quilt.  Everyone is invited to help sew buttons onto the centers of the yo-yos!! This quilt will be auctioned in the fall at our Pawleys Prayer Quilts Open House. As always though, our primary focus is making quilts for those in crisis in our community.  Our inventory of quilts is a bit low so in the coming weeks, we will work on making quilt tops so we that we stay ahead.

During the morning, we had a visitor, Phil Johnson, husband of the late Judy Johnson; the Johnsons were owners of the Island Threads quilt shop in Pawleys. As directed by his wife, Phil donated 13 boxes of fabric, two quilt tops and an 8' x 8' design wall to PPQ so you'll be able to help sort and process a bunch of cool stuff. This fabric, in addition to what we have in our very well organized stash, will be put to good use as we work to make new quilt tops.

Don't forget....Friday, February 28 is the Horry County Quilt Gala.  If you are interested in going, we will meet in the Holy Cross Faith Memorial parking lot to carpool up to the event.  We will have lunch before our return.
